In India, 2.9 million students are enrolled in Engineering and Technology institutes every year but less than 20% students are qualified enough to secure jobs in their core domain. This is majorly because of a common misnomer that engineering is considered as a “safe” career option. Most students give in to herd mentality and direct their efforts to this field very early on, only to realize that their interests lie elsewhere. Lack of guidance at these early stages is also a prime reason why even on graduation, students are left without a job.
Often, we, as students, do not have a detailed idea of how these things really work in the real world. We struggle to decide where exactly our interest lies so as to direct our full-fledged efforts towards it.
In the COVID-19 lockdown situation, when we had plenty of time on our hands, we decided to dedicate our time to explore these options. That is when we decided to maintain a blog of the notes we make while exploring these various interests. We are no experts in the matter, we have only tried to list down some basic concepts and terms that we hear on the daily related to these fields.
We hope this blog serves as a quick handbook for students, such as ourselves, to get a brief idea of what exactly we are getting into.
Take some time to explore the blog, read up on whatever interests and intrigues you and feel free to get in touch with us if you would like to collaborate on a project together.
